The Government and local governance will use the University of Tirana resources for scientific research and the implementation of innovative projects. The Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, together with the Rector of UT, Artan Hoxha, signed the agreement between the two institutions.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, Minister Mazniku said that the universities’ assistance will serve to address the challenges that the local government is currently facing. On the one hand, this cooperation will increase the capacities of the University, making it a partner in the development of local governance.
On the other hand, the University of Tirana will help in the implementation of legal initiatives, studies and scientific research for the development of the local governance, it will help with the implementation of innovative projects in the local government and it will offer technical expertise at the request of the Minister of State for Local Government.
The students of the University of Tirana will carry out teaching and employment internships in Albanian municipalities.
The agreement between the Minister of State for Local Government and the Rector of UT will last for 5 years with automatic renewal for another 2 years.
